After listening to a brief talk by
our guide for the day, our group
was brought inside and sat
inside the praying area, where
the guide pretty much started us
off with the history of Putrajaya
before bringing us around.

Putrajaya was apparently a forest
or swamp land which was given
to ex-British soldiers by the
Selangor government as a form
of appreciation for their duty in
protecting the country during
the war.

Not knowing what to do with
the land, these former soldiers
eventually found out that the soil
was healthy enough to farm their
own rubber plantations which
eventually made them rich with
rubber as a resource.

At the main prayer area,
you will be met with these
incredible carvings laced with
Quranic Scriptures. According
to our guide, the stones were
individually carved and were
later fitted into which probably
required a ton of mathematical
calculations to get the sizes
right. He was quite proud of the
14 craftsmanship and care poured 15
into each and every design
around the mosque!
